How I Implement New Stuff I Learn

I discovered a new way to implement new stuff I learn.

Here's how the old me approached going through classes, courses, and programs:

– Sign up for a course;

– Start learning;

– Get excited about the new stuff I'm learning;

– Get overwhelmed from all the new stuff I've learned;

– Implement a thing or two from what I've learned;

– Turn the page and go to the next course, feeling sad that I couldn't get more value out of this course.

Sounds familiar?

I think I found a way to get a lot more value out of the courses I go through.

But before I tell you what it is, let me share with you what led me to this discovery.

I you probably know, I have been mentored by Dan Lok for close to 4 years now, so when he launched his High Ticket Closer® program, I jumped on the opportunity.

What I've learned was so profound, I went through the course at least 5 times from start to finish and have attended most classes in Seasons 6, 7, and 8.

In fact, I completely rebuilt the way Trademark Factory® does business around what I've learned in HTC.

And then, it came to me.

Not only did Dan teach me an amazingly valuable skill, not only did he help me restructure our offer, he did something even more valuable.

He created a massive pool of students who have learned the same valuable skill.

So when the time came for me to scale our sales team, all I needed to do is reach out to the HTC family with an offer to apply to work for Trademark Factory®.

Because we've all been through the same training, it was so easy for me to show the new members of the team how what they've learned applies to what we do here.

Hands down, one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Then Dan launched his new program, Tube Your Own Horn®.

If I ever wanted to learn how to build a successful YouTube channel, it'd be from someone who took his YouTube channel from 1,000 subscribers to 1,000,000+ subscribers in less than three years—and Dan Lok just happened to be that person.

It's a 7-week course, and by week 5, I knew two things: (1) what I've learned is profoundly valuable and will allow me to take our YouTube channel to the next level; and (2) I ain't going to be the one implementing all that crazy stuff that Dan taught us.

I needed help.

Guess where the help came from?

You got it.

Other Tube Your Own Horn students®.

After a couple of interviews, I hired two people who are starting on their journey to take Trademark Factory® channel from 1,800 subscribers to 10k.

We'll see how fast we'll get there.

By the way, if you haven't subscribed yet, what are you waiting for?

Third example, I signed up to a Udemy course on Instagram.

Great stuff.

You can spend a lifetime implementing it.

Do I want to spend my lifetime implementing it?

No.

But some of those who have gone through the course would.

Unfortunately, the person who created the course did not create the community akin to what Dan Lok did.

So I approached it differently this time around.

I asked one of the guys who is taking care of our YouTube page to buy the Instagram course, go through it, and then apply the tactics from the course to build up our Instagram page.

So here's the secret.

Instead of being frustrated that you don't have the time you need to implement everything you've learned or simply hiring someone who you have no idea whether they are on the same page as you, what I do is I go through the course and find someone who's gone through it as well, and give them an opportunity to grow Trademark Factory with me®.

Not only does it make it easier to source for talent, it also makes our conversations very productive, because we are speaking the same language and use the strategies that we learned together.
