Trademark News & Screw-ups Alibaba Wins Preliminary Trademark Case against Alibabacoin

As I mentioned before, the initial refusal of the courts to grant Alibaba's request for an injunction against Alibabacoin had nothing to do with trademark law. It was merely a procedural bump. Now that the court has heard the actual arguments pertaining to the use of Alibaba trademark, the injunction was readily granted. Having said that, it's not a worldwide injunction. It is limited to the U.S. So we will see how this develops further.
