Trademark News & Screw-ups Apparently Drowsy Samsung Files Trademark for Social Network Called 'Uhssup'

" European Trademarks Office (EUIPO) does not check newly applied trademark applications for being confusingly similar to previously applied-for or registered trademarks. In other words, it is the responsibility of the owners of those previously applied-for and registered trademarks to police and oppose newly filed trademark applications. In other words, EUIPO wouldn't stop Uhssup trademark even if the examiner believes the name is too close to WhatsApp. But what's curious is whether Facebook that now owns the WhatsApp brand will oppose Samsung's application."
