Apple is not crazy. They don't have a problem with the party using an apple as a symbol for what the party does as a party. What they do have a problem with is the party trying to expand their trademark claims to digital media, clothing, games, and toys. That could, in fact, create a likelihood of confusion and dilute Apple's brand. Make sure you read beyond the headline.
