Trademark News & Screw-ups Buc-ee's Loses Trademark Infringement Suit Against Nebraska Chain, Bucky's |

This is karma! You might remember my earlier comments about another trademark dispute involving Buc-ee's. Back then, they were able to somehow convince Federal Court that Choke Canyon's logo of an alligator in a cowboy hat was somehow confusingly similar with Buc-ee's beaver in a baseball cap. That case didn't make any sense to me then. It doesn't make any sense to me now. So this time around, we have a situation with, frankly, a lot more potential for customer confusion: Buc-ee's vs. Bucky's, both convenience stores and Buc-ee's somehow manage to lose that one. Apparently, Buc-ee's signed a trademark coexistence agreement with Bucky's and they couldn't weasel out of it. Like I said, karma!
