Trademark News & Screw-ups Chanel Files $56 Million Trademark Suit Against eBay Seller

This one is interesting since Chanel is not claiming that the products sold on eBay are fake. Their claim revolves around the integrity of the original packaging. The counter-argument will, of course, focus around the first-sale doctrine. It will be interesting to see how far this will go. My prediction is that the parties will quietly settle and the eBay seller will switch to selling something else.
