Trademark News & Screw-ups Hillcrest retailer has to change its name or face lawsuit

The store reached out to its fans for suggestions on the name change. I have a suggestion. Do a proper trademark search and seek to register the new name. And do not, unless you secure the other side's consent, fool around by removing vowels from the name. MCRSFT is still confusingly similar to Microsoft. MNKND is still confusingly similar to Mankind. In other words, if you want to fight, fight over your current name. If you want to comply and rebrand, rebrand to something completely unrelated. In other words, if you are not removing the risk of litigation, why bother with rebranding?
