Trademark News & Screw-ups MGM Sues Nevada Man For Infringing on United Artists Trademark

The only thing unclear about this case is whether MGM's lawyers will want to settle with the Nevada man or sue him into oblivion. The decision is not as clear-cut as it seems. When you are dealing with a loudmouthed idiot as a defendant, there are a lot of things at work. One of them is the lawyers' ego. Another one is whether the defendant's got any money to go after. Yet another one is the speed at which they want this to be over. Yet another is the lesson they want to teach to this defendant and those that would possibly follow. But usually, it's the lawyers' ego that drives decisions like this. We will watch and see.
