Seattle salon shares trademark warning for small businesse

Andrei Mincov's commentary on the original article
The owner of this beauty salon estimates the rebranding forced by an alleged trademark infringement would cost her over $10,000 out-of-pocket. It would cost her much more in the loss of goodwill that she's been trying to build over the 12 years that she's been in business. This could have been easily prevented by doing a proper trademark search (which you can get for free with Trademark Factory), finding a name that's available and not confusingly similar to other previously filed or registered trademarks, and trademarking that name early on (which would have cost a fraction of what the forced rebranding
is going to cost her). Don't treat your business like a hobby—do what it takes to secure your brand!
